Good Landlordship Act

On the 7th of March 2023, the legislative proposal for Good Landlordship was adopted, and as of the 1st of July 2023, this new law will come into effect. The objective of this law is to ensure equal opportunities in the housing market by establishing a national standard for landlords and rental intermediaries. Municipalities will exercise supervision over compliance with this law and take enforcement action if necessary.

At BED'R Apartments B.V. (and affiliated entities), we fully embrace this new law. We place great value on a rental process free from discrimination and intimidation, and we will make every effort to provide everyone with a fair service. To guarantee this, we employ a transparent and objective selection procedure when searching for new tenants. Furthermore, we inform all rejected prospective tenants of the reasons for their rejection.

Additionally, all costs imposed on the tenant are determined in accordance with legal requirements. With us, the security deposit is always equal to one month's basic rent. All rental agreements are prepared in writing following the ROZ model, along with its corresponding general provisions. Moreover, the tenant receives written information, including the rules and obligations of the tenant, details regarding the security deposit and service charges, contact information for rental matters, and the contact details of the municipality's complaint center.
